Extracts from Jun's life. 2/3

Jun moved to the town at the lakeside, and she went to a high school. She was a nice girl, then she had many friends. Even some childern who had thrown pebbles at her, became her friends. She had a quite happy school life. Everything seems to be shining. But she was afraid that she had lived in the island, the fairie's land. If she told it to her friends, nobody would have believed.
She was very sad. She often felt lonliness evern though she played her favorite friends. She tried to forget everything that happened in the wonderful fairie's world. She just wished to be the same as her school friends. She made a story of her childhood like her friends had.
Using her great imagination, it was quite easy to make up the stories. No one noticed those werelies. She thought that she did no t have problems any more. In fact, she seldom remembered the lif in the island for a while. But a lie was just a lie. She knew that. She started feeling sadness again. Then her imagination made a friend inside her heart. His name was Jeff. He told Jun to stop living a lie. That was what Jun wanted to deep inside of herself. She said in her heart to Jeff.
"I was afraid that I became lonely. I had a strange life that my friends didn't have. I worried that they knew my life."
Then, Jeff laughed.
" how silly! However you make a lie, your past has never changed. Do you think that your fellows in the island were not wonderful? You must be proud of your old friends, the fairies. And you said you had a strange life, but everyone has had her own unique life. Don't you think so? Strange or not, that is nothing. I think a false life is the most strange, so you felt uncomfortable when you told a lie. Everybody is standing alone whatever cannot change the rule."
"But Rusha said to me that we are One."
"Yes, that's right. In general, we are separated. But at the same time, we are One. Because we are all included in the one universe."
"...Well, we're individual each, but we can't live alone..."
"How wise! You have to be lonely, sometimes. But it's a little thing. You have an avility to live your own life happily and meaningfully. By the way, I think you should be more optimistic. You can linve shatever happnes. Rusha said so. Believe yourself!"
"All right, Jeff. I know what a happy life I have. And I will stop telling lies. But I had better not tell the truth about my past life, it will confuse my friends."
"As you like."

Jun talked to Jeff when she felt lonely. It was a conversation between Jun and another part of herself. Jun looked at herself, not only subjectively, but also objectively --- through Jeff's eyes.

LATENT POWER

You may say that I'm crazy,
and the idea is made
because I'm so lazy.
Once, I've thought the same as you
But now I'm sure that there's a power.

Whatever I really need
will come to be true.
And the same thing can be said
for all of you.

Believe or not, there is a power
that give you every answer
if you wish to know it.
Once, try to believe "It is".
And you can do it with your latent power.

Anytime, close your eyes
and open your heart
And feel the air
that creates every art.

Jun became twenty years old. She was a cute girl with ong brown hair melting in the air.
She was a college stuldent. She fell in love with a young gentleman who also went to the same college. Jun and the young man, named Louis, first met at a party held by some groups of students. This party was a kind of free-style party. People could select what they did at the party. Some of them decided to play cards or games. Some other people danced to a munic band. Others enjoyed drinking, eating and talking. Everyone could find what he/she wanted to do, and found new friends who had the same interest. There was a group in which people talked about juvenile literature and fantastic worlds. Jun had a large interest in it. Louis was the leader of this group. Jun asked him.
"Excuse me, but can I join your discussion?"
"Yes, of course. We welcome you, Miss..."
"I'm Jun. Hello. I'm glad to see you."
"Nice to meet you, Jun. My name is Louis."
Then they started discussing again. They talked a lot about child psychology, and old mythology, poems for children and some fairy-tales. And even after the party ended, Jun and Louis kept talking. Jun felt something special in Louis, and Louis felt the same as her. Then, Jun spent more time with him. They could improved each other with a good relationship between them. They could share many excellent things. for example, imagination, tenderness and courage for living. Without realizing, Jun loved Louis so much.

LOVE ME AS I WISH

I'm whispering in the space
I want to gaze at you
I want to stay with you
I don't know why I'm so fascinated
But I'm sure that I have started loving you.

I'm wonderling how you feel
I want to roll the future's wheel
I want to live with you
I don't know what you've done before
But I'm sure that you make me happy

Let me smile at you
Make me feel so fine
Tell me what you want
And love me as I wish

I'm wondering what I can do
I want to talk with you
I want to know you well
I didn't care about you when I first met you
But I'm sure that I saw a flash.

Jun was a little bit ignorant of the society of the general world. And for her, Louis' knowledge of the social system was a great help.
"If I'd never met you, I would still be ignorant of the dirty side of society. I should have much more realistic thinking."
"Well, I can't say good or bad, Because it is you unique point that you're not so realistic. You're just the princess of a fairy land. Your stories are always quite amazing, great. Sometimes I feel that all of the stories are true. How can you make up these wonderful stories?"
Jun laughed and said to herself 'It's so easy, because I just tell the true stories' , and she told him as if she was just joking,
"Louis, to tell the truth, I'm a fairy. Now I stay here to inquire about humans. You are material for my study."
Louis was frightened for a moment, but soon he laughed.
"All right, I'll be material for you. By the way, I want to know the recent thing that impressed you a lot."
"The recent thing... um, impressed me? I don't know. But..., yes. In my high school days, I had an experience. ..?! Louis, am I material for you?"
"Ha, sure. Then, what happened in your high school days?"
"Well, when I was fifteen, one of my class mates, a boy, was expelled from school. He was not really a bad student. He smoked a little and skipped classes sometimes, though... The main reason for his leaving was that he tried to bluff other students and cheated them for thir money. He was surely wrong, but he had to do it because he was tried to bluff, too, by other violent upper-class students. If he was usually a good student, he might never have been expelled. But he wasn't. He often had a deficant attitude towareds teachers. So most teachers hated him and wanted him away from school. For those teachers, that was a good chance. They recomended that he must leave school. But a few teachers who tried to understand him, didn't want to do such a thing. My classroom teacher was one of the minority. He tried to solve the problem without his student's dropping out. He tried and tried and tried ad hard as possible. But finally, the student had to leave school. On the day when his punishment was decided, the teacher came into my class and told his punishment. Of course, all class mates were shocked deeply. But more than us, the teacher was shocked. After a few short words, tears aprang from his eyes. He was crying and said to us 'I'm very sorry, I can't help your friend.' It was an unbearable feeling. The teacher had started teaching one year before then. And our class was his first homeroom class. You know what I mean. By this experienc, I realized that a teacher was also as human as students. Teachers have more knowledges than studens but this doesn't mean that teachers were always strong enough to stand up gainst a problem."
"I know what you want to say."
Louis said.
" Jun, you always give something worthy for human. You tell about dreams, imaginative things, fantastic things and all these kinds of stories which moisten our dried hearts. You may be a great magician. Your soul is filled with love and sympathy."
"That's too much, Louis. I'm just a girl who likes dreaming and fantasying. You tell me the essence of nature, too. I remember that you said 'An eternal, small thing is the widest" You pointed at a little puddle and said, " ALook at this puddle. It seems a trifling little limited pool. But you can see the eternal blue sky in it. The widest thing is included in a samll thing.' I thought how nice you were."
"Well, anyway, you're excellent, Jun!"

Jun thought that she loved Louis most of all in the world, and that Louis loved her, too.
Time seemed to be passing happily, for a while. Jun, Louis and other friends planned to go sailing in a big yacht during their summer vaction. They would have a joyful time on the yacht. Among the members of this plan there as a sagacious girl named Rita. She was one of Louis' best friends. Jun like Rita , also.
It was a fine day. Marine blue and cobalt blue were melting together, and milky-white downy clouds are floating on a waltz that sea waves played. Sunlight came down straight on small plaits and embroidered rainbow-colored figures on the velvet of the sea. Jun enjoyed feeling winds combing her silk hair.
"How wonderful this world is!"
   Jun felt satisfaction.

But in the afternoon, the weather changed. Cold mists spread around the yacht.
"Hey, it seems bad. We have to return soon." someone said.
"Yes. Waves are swelling up."
Everyone was getting ready to return. Suddenly, the hacht rocked roughly, then Rita fell into the sea. Unfortunately, around the yacht, there was a cold ocean current, and it was said that if someone drawn in this area, he/her would never be bale to come back alive.
"Rita fell into the water!"
Someone shouted. Louis heard it and tried to dive into the sea to help Rita.
"Louis, NO! You will die!! Please, stop it!"
"Jun, she isn't dead!! I have to help her!"
"No, don't go!! Don't leave me alone!"
"Rita is my heat, my life. I must help her. I'd rather die with her than live without her!"
Then he dived. Jun's shouting echoed through the empty mists.
"Louis!"

By good luck, Rita and Louis saved their lives. But in spite of it, Jun lost her mind. She could not react to anything. At that time, when she heard what Louis said, her mind crashed. Her friends thought that she could not recover any more and at last, people seldom came to meet her except Louis and Rita. They wer the only two who believed that Jun would recover someday. Seven months went by.
